The decree said that Francis had established a Year of St Joseph so that "every member of the faithful, following his example, may strengthen their life of faith daily in the complete fulfillment of God's will." WEEKLY OFFERTORY ENVELOPES:
If you are planning on going away for the winter....We ask that you take your envelopes with you & continue to support your parish. With the Covid 19 Pandemic and lockdown, and many parishioners being in quarantine, it has been a difficult financial year. We are thankful to the parishioners that continue to send in their collection envelopes, but there are many that have not. Winter is upon us and the expenses can double or triple. Please do all you can to help support your parish.
Offertory envelopes may be dropped off at the parish office or mailed to St Hubert Church, P.O. Box 75, Higgins Lake, MI 48627.
2020 Contribution Statements: Another year has come & gone and all of the 2020 contribution envelopes have now been posted. We have found that most people do not need or want a contribution statement. If you are able to use a statement for tax purposes, contact the parish office by dropping a note in the collection basket or calling 989-821-5591 and we will mail your statement to you.
***Extending the Dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays & Holy Days of obligation for the people in the Diocese of Gaylord--UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. See full letter from Most Reverend Bishop Walter A. Hurley on the Dispensation just below the November calendar and From the Desk of Fr. Ty.
Excerpt from the Bishops' letter: "The granting of this dispensation is not meant to be a reason to absent oneself from Mass. Without a dispensation, many would be excused from this obligation because of age, health or other family situations or issues. Conscience will always need to be our guide. If you are able to do so, I invite you to come back to the parish celebrations. Whether we are able to attend or not, we all have a serious obligation to "Keep holy the sabbath day." If you are not able to attend Mass, I ask that you set aside time for prayer, not only for everyday but especially on Sunday. While not a substitute for Mass attendance, the various "virtual Masses" can be useful in focusing our prayer and our union with all our brothers and sisters. The recitation of the rosary, other devotions, visits to the Blessed Sacrament at the church or chapel, and Scripture or other reading can all be helpful."
***Protocols to follow***
** General Dispensation from Sunday obligation Extended until and including the feast of Christ the King, Sunday, November 22, 2020. The granting of Dispensation is not to discourage those who are able to attend Sunday Mass from doing so, but rather to enable so that anyone who needs to stay at home to protect the common good (their own or that of others) can do so confidently and in good conscience. Those who wish to attend Mass may do so, on Sunday or any weekday, thus fulfilling their obligation.
**It is appropriate for people to wear face coverings/masks at this time, and thus the faithful are strongly encouraged to wear them Parents should consider health guidelines & use their own judgment regarding small children.
**Both parish halls will be arranged for (possible) overflow. Only 25% will be accommodated at any one time
**Parishioners are asked to arrive somewhat early for ease of seating & other instructions.
**Family members may sit together.
**Non-household members are to be seated according to markings.
**All hymnals, books, missalettes, and worship aids will be removed from the pews.
**Entrance/exit doors will be propped open to assist/prevent touching surfaces or door handles.
**No offertory procession. Collection baskets will be strategically placed for receiving weekly offerings. (Or they may still be mailed to the office).
**There is to be no gathering, greeting, holding hands at the Our Father; nor exchange Sign of Peace.
**Distribution of the Precious Blood will not be offered.
**People, gluten intolerant, can make special arrangements with the pastor in advance.
**Communion distribution will move at the direction of the ushers, maintaining social distancing.

Retirement Fund for Religious. Help our elders. In good times and bad, senior Catholic sisters, brothers & religious order priests have dedicated themselves to service and acts of mercy. Today, they pray for an aching world. Yet years of serving for little or no pay have left their religious communities without enough retirement savings. Your gift to their Retirement Fund for Religious helps provide medications, nursing care, and other necessities. Please be generous. Gifts should be payable to Retirement Fund for Religious. If you are unable to give during Mass, please mail your offertory envelope to the parish office or send contributions to:
National Religious Retirement Office

***Daily Prayers to St. Joseph for the week of February 22nd thru 28th***;
February 22nd: Mary belonged to Joseph, and Joseph to Mary, so much so that their marriage was very real, since they gave them-selves to each other. But how could they do this? Behold the triumph of purity. They reciprocally gave their virginity, and over this virginity they gave each other a mutual right. What right? To safeguard the other's virtue. --St. Peter Julian Eymard Blessed Stefan Wincenty Frelichowski, pray for us!
February 23rd: What prudence was required to educate a God become a child, who willed to obey him {St. Joseph} for thirty years! --Blessed William Joseph Chaminade Blessed Josephine Vannini, pray for us!
February 24th: Be in good spirits under the fatherly mantle of St. Joseph, a place of safest refuge in trials & tribulations. --St. Joseph Marello Blessed Tommaso Maria Fusco, pray for us!
February 25th: There is no doubt that St. Joseph, to whom the Mother of the Savior was espoused, was a good & faithful man. A faithful & prudent servant, I say, whom the Lord appointed to be the consolation of his mother, the tutor of his own person, and the one faithful coadjutor on earth of his great counsel. --St Bernard of Clairvaux Blessed Maria Ludovica de Angelis, pray for us!
February 26th: By that assistance which Jesus & Mary gave thee {St. Joseph} at death, I beg thee to protect me in a special way at the hour of my death, so that dying assisted by thee, in the company of Jesus & Mary, I may go to thank thee in heaven, and in thy company to sing God's praises for all eternity. --St. Alphonsus Liguori Blessed Jacques-Desire Laval, pray for us!
February 27th: By means of {his} espousal {to Mary}, Joseph's testimony proved the Christ was born of a virgin. --St. Thomas Aquinas Blessed Maria Caridad Brader, pray for us!
February 28th: God gave him {St. Joseph} to Mary as companion of her purity. For that reason he had to surpass all the saints, and even the angels & the cherubim. --St. Peter Julian Eymard Blessed Villana de'Botti, pray for us!
